If you are considering a trip to Bangkok, you should be aware that one of the must-do activities in the Thai capital is to spend the night on a rooftop, sipping a decent drink while enjoying an awesome panoramic view of this magnificent city. As a result, use our guide to uncover the greatest roofs in Bangkok: simply choose one!
In Bangkok, you will undoubtedly come across a wide range of roofs. Each has its own style, pricing, and individuality. We’ve included people we know and/or who came highly recommended in this article.
We understand that the city is packed with attractions (we’ve previously showed you everything to do in Bangkok here), and it’s difficult to fit everything in.
But, if possible, visit more than one rooftop in Bangkok – and don’t limit yourself to the most renowned ones.
Check out our selection of the 11 best rooftops in Bangkok and choose your favorite!
What are the 11 best rooftops in Bangkok
Although there are plenty of possibilities, we have chosen the eleven finest roofs in Bangkok that are well worth a visit since they provide a pleasant experience and vistas that will wow any tourist.
It is worth noting that they are not included in any particular order or score. As previously said, each has distinct qualities and provides a totally diverse experience. So go there, meet as many as you can, and then tell us which one you like most!
Sirocco and Sky Bar (Lebua State Tower)
Shot on Bangkok’s most iconic rooftop. The Sky Bar in Lebua State Tower rose to prominence with the release of the film “Don’t Get Married,” propelling it to the top of the list of Bangkok’s sexiest places.
The Sky Bar is positioned on the 63rd level and has an excellent view.
However, we believe that this is not one of the greatest rooftops in Bangkok for enjoying the nightlife.
The site is constantly crowded, with no sitting and a lot of people eager to snap photographs. Certainly not our favorite rooftop experience.
As a result, the recommendation is to stop by fast to get to know the venue and enjoy the night even if it is at a close address. If you want to treat yourself to a memorable evening, make a reservation at the on-site Sirocco restaurant.
From 6 p.m. until 1 a.m., the Sky Bar is open.
Vertigo and Moon Bar
Vertigo and Moon Bar is one of the highest rooftops in Bangkok. It is on the 61st floor of the Banyan Tree hotel, which makes it a great option if you want to see the Thai city from very high up.
The rooftop takes up the full patio and is entirely exposed. If it rains when you’re in Bangkok, consider going somewhere else.
It is worth noting that Vertigo operates in two distinct contexts, one with a more casual bar ambiance and the other with a more formal restaurant atmosphere where everyone is seated.
Unlike other rooftops in the city, the Vertigo & Moon Bar provides its guests with a serene and friendly ambiance, making it suitable for those looking for a good night without big interruptions. However, it is worth noting that it may get congested.
The restaurant is open daily from 5 p.m. until 1 a.m.
Three Sixty Lounge
The Three Sixty Lounge, located on the 32nd story of the famed Millennium Hilton Bangkok hotel, offers a breathtaking view of the Chao Phraya River. The ideal location for watching the sunset.
Divided into two settings, a more romantic open-air one and a covered and cozy one, the restaurant serves great cuisine and a wide range of beverages and cocktails, and it is open daily from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Cloud 47 Bar & Bistro
Cloud 47, located at the top of the United Center Building, takes its name from its location on the 47th floor and gives a nice view over the Silom Road area, while not being one of the tallest rooftops in Bangkok.
The big benefit of Cloud 47 is its extremely large and pleasant setting, as well as the ability to locate a broad menu at rates that are, on average, less expensive than the other locations on the list.
The facility is open from 5 p.m. until midnight, Monday through Saturday.
Park Society
Park Society, situated on the 29th level of the SO Sofitel Bangkok Hotel, with a renowned view of Lumpini Park.
With a romantic and elegant décor, the venue is ideal for couples and also boasts one of the city’s most breathtaking vistas, with the quaint Lumpini Park as a backdrop.
The location is open from 5:00 p.m. until 12:30 a.m. everyday.
Octave Lounge & Bar
Octave, considered the primary rooftop in the Sukhumvit area, is also one of the nicest rooftops in Bangkok, owing to the panoramic view that we can enjoy from up there.
The bar’s range of cocktails, as well as its contemporary and hip aesthetic, add to its ranking as one of the most intriguing in Thailand’s capital.
Octave is open daily from 5 p.m. until 1 a.m.
The Speakeasy
Speakeasy is a rooftop with unrivaled individuality and style: it combines French elegance and charm with Bangkok’s dynamic pace.
It is situated on the 25th level of the Muse hotel, thus it is worth noting that it is not the nicest rooftop in Bangkok.
Nonetheless, the visit is worthwhile: there is a DJ at night, which may be excellent if you desire a more vibrant atmosphere.
Speakeasy is open daily from 6 p.m. until 1 a.m.
Zoom Sky Bar
The Zoom Sky Bar, located on the 40th level of the Anantara Sathorn Hotel, covers the full top of the hotel, providing 360o views of one of Bangkok’s busiest locations.
With a diverse menu of food and snacks, the bar is particularly notable for its multiple drink selections, which have discounted rates during happy hour, which runs until 8 p.m.
The location is open between 18:00 and 00:30.
Above Eleven
Above Eleven, with its design inspired by New York’s Central Park, provides a creative and irreverent atmosphere.
It already received the prize for finest restaurant in Bangkok in 2014, and the menu’s specialty is sushi.
Above Eleven also leaves little to be desired in terms of scenery: it is placed on the 33rd level of a building, affording a stunning view of Bangkok’s skyscrapers.
There’s also an open-air nightclub.
The restaurant is open everyday from 6 p.m. until 2 a.m.
Red Sky
Red Sky is conveniently situated on the 55th level of the Centara Grand Hotel, which is within the CentralWorld Mall.
Although you won’t be able to see the Chao Phraya River from here, you will get a spectacular 360-degree panorama of Bangkok.
The tables are along the glass wall, and it is best to make a reservation ahead of time. Take advantage of the chance to sample food or have a few drinks while listening to live jazz.
From 5 p.m. until 1 a.m.
Zense Gourmet Deck & Lounge
The Zense Gourmet Deck & Lounge, situated on the 17th level of the CentralWorld mall, is another Bangkok rooftop that runs.
Despite not reaching as high as the major Bangkok roofs, Zense offers a pretty unique experience.
Its setting is stylish and pleasant, ideal for a supper with friends or a romantic and wonderful night as a couple.
Zense is open every day at 5:30 p.m. and has no defined closing time.
